Sessions 3-5

Session 3
The party leaves to find Marumi Pera at his castle in Lelijk. Some enter the castle. Most of the party chases around an orc and goblin then everyone finds a couple bears and wagons in the courtyard.

Session 4
Haroki starts suffocating and no one can see why. Mal sees something invisible in the sky. Eventually everyone finds 4 invisible things in the sky untying bear’s ropes and making Sven blind. Turns out it’s just a wizard with Shocking Mirror Image and Greater Invisibility—oh and he’s frying the hell out of Haroki. Everyone ends up killing the wizard.

Session 5
Search castle. Find fucked up dungeon. Leave castle for Haven.

Session 2

PCs drop out of trees and check things out. Sven forgot that trolls don’t die and almost got in trouble. But no worries. Everyone finds a huge wagon stuffed with something. Kaelin thinks its opium and worth a lot. Mal figures out if Kaelin is correct by throwing a bag in the fire and causing everyone to break edge. PCs decide to turn a profit on their top grade shit. Kaelin gets the leftover goats to drag a giant wagon through dense forest. Gwedhiel, a sexy human ranger lady NPC with a bow, gets sassy and Kaelin takes offense. Gwedhiel says that if the PCs sell the shit in Haven, they’ll get jumped so they should sell it to her guy instead. Or they could always burn it. She hates the dude that would have received the shipment anyway. PCs decide to burn the wagon just outside of the forest. Thing is, it’s a real big fire. A search party of giants and scary things is sent to search for the goods. Gwedhiel forewarns the PCs who buy dogs and ride into the night to meet them. The PCs set up an ambush and end up killing 2 bears, 2 ogres, 2 orcs, 2 bugbears, 3 goblins and a troll. Well, an orc and a goblin booked it. And the ogres were shot by someone else. But still. I think that’s it

Session 1

Player Characters get all weepy because the gnome pioneer village loves them. Goat herder freaks because a bunch of giants just nabbed a ton of his goats. PCs investigate and decide to follow the trail of blood and huge footprints into the super dense forest. PCs notice a fire and investigate to find a bear tied to a tree and 3 ogres, a troll, and an ettin chillin’ by a large fire. Kaelin the ranger sets some traps in the dark. The PCs set up and then Kaelin and Sorcha the rogue let loose some arrows. The ettin, the troll and the two ogres are dropped from afar in the first couple rounds. The bear takes a bite out of Mal the monk but is eventually brought down by Mal and Sven. Nan provides support and heals their sorry asses.

Giant Problems (Intro)

Giant Problems—————————-

Nerisella Shortankard has decided to hand over the reigns. For every adventure of the last year, she has started you on the trail of a specific Ogre or Troll. Today, she has answered your questions about “the source of the shit” and told you she no longer can help. She is old and, besides, “any of you could out-hunt me every day of the week”. Each of you is blessed with a friendly kiss and a chuckle before she heads off to see her great-grandchildren whom she has missed for “the last 3 flaming weeks.”

As you are about to leave town, the groups stops to listen to the ancient Davkas Foechuckle as he speaks to the crowd. The monthly celebration of Garl, The Communion of Laughter, is just settling down and the ancient bard slowly makes his way to the front of the crowd to give “the tale being written”:

[what follows is the poorest of summaries of this poet’s telling]

Tales are told of an ancient route referred to as Ve Gold brimming with trading caravans; sometimes wagons travelled 20 wide between Haven and Jall. The gnomes flourished along the Ve Gold and this is where the gnomes in Haven originated. Wars and weather eventually eroded this route to nothing as, it seems, the two do to all.

So a group of gnomes, pioneers, split from the urban center in Haven. There were the opportunistic who wished to find the treasure rumored to be hidden just off the Ve Gold path. The dreamers wished to reestablish the trade route of old. Many couldn’t stand to be without their family. But most of the gnomes were captivated by Ve Gold from wonderlust alone. And, honestly, does a gnome need a better reason?

They decided to call themselves Nyndur, gnomish for “new wonder”. Among these few dozen brave gnomes were children, not 20 summers to their name (young, lively little gnomes they were). [Name characters]

The gnomes have lived a tough life. Nyndur made constant efforts to maintain a sense of humor amidst the struggles that accompany building a new life in a wild place.

Life is hard on the land but it is much harder than it need be. During the many years since Ve Gold’s glory, many of the worst creatures have made the land home. Some of the bravest gnomes came along to the frontier but no one expected to see this many Ogres and Trolls. Many have died defending the tribe:

Nerislyassa Silvershaper (Female Gnome Fighter) and her brother, Norian Silvershaper (Male Gnome Paladin), Seaendithas Foechuckle (Male Gnome Blackguard), Adoendithas Beestinger (Male Gnome Monk), Nerislyassa Cupshigh
(Female Gnome Fighter), Krisnys Smilebeard (Female Gnome Loremaster), Nerisella Shortankard (Female Gnome Arcane Archer)

For the last two decades the children have been trained with the purpose of replacing your aging elder giant-hunters. They were called the team of dreams, the dreamers, not because they were filled with hopes and wishes (though we can only pray they are) but because they are the subject of everyone else’s. They are who every child wishes to be, and who every woman and man hopes returns. A little over a year ago, the team of dreams was sent out alone on their first adventure, to track an ogre. After only one week, we were brought his head. The elders had decided before that, if they had not been successful, Nyndur would have returned to Haven. Our dreamers are truly the last hope .

For the last year, this group of hunters has been all you have known. You have spent more nights under the stars and the rain than at home.

There are now nearly a hundred gnomes in Nyndur, if the tiny baby gnomes are counted.

The rule set is Pathfinder

Race is restricted to Gnome. Deities are restricted to Garl Glittergold or none.

The party must contain at least 1 character with survival skill maxed and ranks in it are suggested for every party member. It is suggested that there be at least 1 character who focuses on divine spells (Druid or Cleric) and 1 character who focuses on arcane spells (Wizard or Sorcerer).

It might be more fun if you borrow family names from those listed but feel free to have fun. Gnome names are a blast. And although your character will be referred to as a “hunter” this doesn’t need to have anything to do with your character’s class. One of the greatest hunters in memory is Krisnys Smilebeard and she was trained as a Loremaster.

The suggested party size is 4 < x < 7.

Starting level is 6.
